Drive Time …… Any & Every Time

Now that the embargo has gone, following a glib comment by Clarkson on Top Gear tonight……. here’s the next big thing for Internet Radio as a medium….. In Car Internet Access (& also in flights/boats/trains etc).

BMW were first, but Chrysler is a very,very close second. My contacts at Chrysler UK tell me that it should be ready in Europe in late 2009. BMW will probably be ready to launch a restricted service mid way the same year……..

Brings an end to the traditional “drive time” show I feel, and seriously challenges the viability & affordability of subscribing to Syrius, XFM & other satelite radio platforms. There’s bound to be lots of people protest about how unsafe this technological development is, but personally, I see this as very very good news for the internet (& radio) as a whole, and means that we’ll have lots of competition …. Comments anyone?
