Today is a monumental day in history. We are at the forefront of a new era, a time where peace can overcome the pathways of the warmongers. A day that many thought they would never see in their own lifetimes, the election of the first African American President of the United States of America. A day for all of us to share, to feel the power of emotion, to be proud to tell our children and grandchildren of. Make no mistake, this is truly a world changing moment.

I hope that Barak Obama fulfills his magnificent potential. He is a man of peace, he is a man that opposed the war in Iraq and has voiced his support for the withdrawal of troops. Let us hope that this becomes reality sooner rather than later.

A country that was founded on genocide and built on the blood of slaves has taken the words of Barak Obama, the words that said it was time for change to come to Washington, and has embraced that notion.

The day’s news reports across the globe have screamed with the ecstatic voices of the world’s peoples that we are moving forward, toward a time unlike any other. It will not be an easy journey, but it is one that has now, finally begun. We, as a people of unity, have a chance to be part of that change. You, as an individual, have a responsibilty to do all you can to ensure that this change filters into every aspect of yourself and that you promote the love, peace and harmony that lies before us.

I believe that this seismic shift in our world will have profound results and I think that this saturday we should all allow ourselves to celebrate like never before.
